Forgive the long post, but I want to let everyone know about an awesome, mom run business that teaches Spanish to adults and children! Here's the info:
Hola Friends and Language Learners,
Language learning has been proven to provide a myriad of cognitive benefits and is essential to any academic pursuit as well as travel, business, and even recreation. Studies reveal that learning a new language helps keep us young and keeps our minds flexible. Learning language also aids the young in developing important word skills, creativity, reading skills, memory skills, and even effects brain density.
Learning a language is a lifelong pursuit, and becoming bilingual takes continued practice and exposure. Communication is inherent in language; this is best done in a classroom setting with other real people.
Learning a language is much like running a marathon. It takes commitment and practice. It takes discipline and devotion. Granted you can learn a couple of vocabulary words here and there, just as anyone can stroll around the block, but true fluency, just like running miles upon miles, does not happen overnight. Likewise, if you stop the practice for a long period of time, it takes some “working out” before it comes back to you with ease. To stretch the analogy even further, some days your muscles are sore, you’re busy, it is raining, etc. and you don’t feel like jogging OR studying Spanish. In both cases, when you actually devote the time and energy to your goals, you reap the benefits and are glad you did.
We aren’t magicians at Dos Amigas, but we can be your personal trainers !
Keep up the good work! You’ve already expressed an interest in learning, so join a class or continue plugging away at the class you are already in. There are about 10 weeks left until many of our summer schedules start to change. Commit yourself to 10 weeks of study, devotion, repetition and involvement, and see how far you can go! We can help!
